Why TN +2 Finished Students prefer Engineering???

Three days before results came for the +2 students… This time around 85% of the people got pass, this is the good one than the previous results.  So all the students looking for there future college.  Most of the science and csc group students like to get seat in engineering.

I dont know, why they prefer engineering…  Now i know about engineering, Arts college is better than the engineering college.  In Engineering, we have to study related to our subjects and not related to subjects also.  ECE students studying some of the computer subjects, CSE students studying some of the electronic subjects and unwanted management subjects…  These things so weird…

We can enjoy life in arts college  for three years, but we have to struggling in engineering college for four years.  There is more and more disadvantages in the engineering.  Within one day, 65000 people got form from anna university to apply for the engineering counseling.  So people still wants to become engineers… I think that our people cannot change!!!!!

    Hey Naresh, Management is a must paper for all the departments. Coz it’s about set of rules or disciplines to be followed in an organization.

    65000 forms, damn it! See how this hot hot sun made so many people go MAD :D

    These people will only realize after 4 years of torture in the engg colleges, if we tell also they won’t listen. At present all they want is a good job with fat cheque.

  2. Harion May 14th 2008 at 5:18 pm

    Because they don’t know about engg 4 years.

  3. Harion May 14th 2008 at 5:20 pm

    I dont know what made rachel hate engg so much.

    you can be happy in future if you feel studying is tough.

  4. Rachelon May 14th 2008 at 5:56 pm

    @Hari

    Studying is tough job man,i accept that. But once you’ve graduated out of college we should posses some stuff related to our studies. Tell me the truth, do you posses anything related to engg except your B.E degree.

  5. Harion May 15th 2008 at 1:52 pm

    @ Rachel
    So you tell me i’m still like what i was in school?

    and can u tell me what other course is in chennai which can give us skills when we complete it and so we can earn as much as software engineers.?

  6. Selerineson May 16th 2008 at 1:25 pm

    Dai Naresh… Any way you are going to get so much money from Software companie na!!! Why you chosen Engineering field????? Don’t tell that it’s bcoz of parents compulsion..

  7. Nareshon May 16th 2008 at 3:51 pm

    @Selerines
    Ok tell me.. What you learned from this engineering? I am not talking about salary.. Talking about knowledge… Even arts college students have more knowledge than Engineering students….

  8. Harion May 16th 2008 at 4:49 pm

    @Naresh

    Just ask one arts college student to write a java program to add two numbers. Let us see who has more knowledge. I completely disagree with your last comment. no one will agree with you for sure. Even an arts student.

    I don’t know how you compare a B.A with B.E.

    I think you should have joined B.A economics then.

  9. Vinodon May 17th 2008 at 4:30 am

    Hari got the point there. We can’t compare a BE student with an Arts student. They study things that are different from ours. Actually we could have learned a lot from BE. Its college and we have to study on our own. Staff should just build a basic foundation for students in college but that is not done by most staff which is why we go on accusing BE course. We have to learn things on our own once we join a UG course. If you are talking so much then why didn’t you go for some arts college??? Whats the reason for you to come to Engineering college and study the course which you think made you learn nothing in the past four years? you knew C# before joining college? Did you knew advance Java before taking UG? Don’t tell that you learned it outside. You probably might not have done these if you went for arts. And there is no need to approach some stupid institute to learn these things. if you have interest then you can learn these on your own. BE is actually has made us learn a lot. We would not have been what we are now if we didn’t take up Engineering. I am against few things in this education system and I will be but that does not mean that BE is totally waste and we didn’t learn anything. I learned a lot from this UG in the past 4 years. Its the way we take it dude!

  10. Selerineson May 17th 2008 at 2:46 pm

    @Naresh : What you learned from this engineering?. Its really a nice question yaar…. Listen Naresh as all said we should not compare one person with another one. Its unfair… Arts student will be having some talent and “i” will be having some talent… I learned so many things from the Engineering field like, How to communicate with different people, i meant i improved my communication skills some what as compared to my school days. Through the knowledge that i have gained from Engineering i did a project with my team mate in IBM and it got selected too. I haven’t done it any where. Its our own project. I am not a kind of student who memorizes every thing in the book and writes it in the exam. For more information see this link. Because of the course plans that AU was following, you should not blame Engineering. Now i am 75% fit to work in a company as a Software Engineer. Even Arts college students are not too bad, they too have good knowledge.

    So think thousand times before when you speak out some thing to some one… Its must yaar…

  11. Nareshon May 17th 2008 at 3:07 pm

    @Siva

    So what you want to tell here… you are the brilliant person and u utilize our BE course… But all of the engineering students are not like u… Till most of them memorize there engineering subjects… In my point of view, The person who have interest only suitable for engineering course. It is waste for Others who taking BE for no reason……

  12. Gowthamon May 18th 2008 at 1:54 am

    Cos, they know nothing about engg and their parents should be forcing them to join

  13. Selerineson May 18th 2008 at 2:58 am

    @Naresh : Cool buddy!!!!!! So now you got the point……. Here after you should not blame the Engineering Course…. Without interest no use of doing anything here.. At the same time i wanna tell you one thing, that is “I am not brilliant as you said”. I utilized this course in useful way.. I(We) tried my(Our) level best to do some thing different during this course and i(We) achieved it too… If you are having lack of interest in one thing.. Then you should not blame it… Its your fault…. Keep in touch in my blog dude…..

  14. Marcon May 19th 2008 at 5:59 am

    and can u tell me what other course is in chennai which can give us skills when we complete it

    Almost every other course. The only thing engineering is good for is the pay. We did the course for money.

    Just ask one arts college student to write a java program to add two numbers. Let us see who has more knowledge. I completely disagree with your last comment. no one will agree with you for sure. Even an arts student.

    Hari, my friend Sanchan did a B.Sc. in Electronic Media. He has also written an operating system is assembly code, created a text editor in assembly and is now developing application for Blackberry devices. All this without doing any programming course. Ultimately it all depends on your interest. You are all B.E. people yet you had so much trouble updating WordPress which is something trivial.

    (Bala says: Still you are in the adding 2 numbers attitude. It is something 12th standard students should do. B.E. students should be capable of creating large programs. I say: Can you create a program to plot a graph after measuring the error rates in an incoming transmission on a LAN? If the answer is no then you are equal to arts college students who have not done B.E.)

    Whats the reason for you to come to Engineering college and study the course which you think made you learn nothing in the past four years?

    Vinod, the reason is that we can earn more money easily. Or go abroad easily. Or get a job easily. It has nothing to do with learning.

    I learned so many things from the Engineering field like, How to communicate with different people, i meant i improved my communication skills some what as compared to my school days.

    Siva, you would have learned that in any course.

    Through the knowledge that i have gained from Engineering i did a project with my team mate in IBM and it got selected too.

    You used your own knowledge. Did anything you learn in engineering help you with your project?

    Now i am 75% fit to work in a company as a Software Engineer.

    This is through your own interest. How many of us can say the same?

    So think thousand times before when you speak out some thing to some one

    Same advice to you when you say ‘yaar’.

    Also, stop deleting comments before we read them.

  16. Selerineson May 19th 2008 at 2:20 pm

    @Naresh : Too bad.. Where is my comment..??? I didn’t expect this from you.. Bloody bitch… What da cha???????

  17. Selerineson May 19th 2008 at 3:14 pm

    @Marc : Even though i learned Java, J2EE and so on in centers…. Some of the engineering subjects helped me a lot to successfully finish it like Case Tools lab practicals, Software Engineering, DBMS and so on….. Thats why i said….

  18. visuon May 19th 2008 at 3:43 pm

    I’d totally agree with Marc. The ultimate purpose of engineering is the pay you get, Nothing much. And somebody said ‘Go join B.A Economics’., well, speaking the truth an economics student is far far brilliant than an engineer, Only thing is he lacks technical stuff. Just because we are in the computer science stream we tend to know some technical stuff, but even an arts student can acquire that knowledge on his/her own interest.
    I still say, An economics student knows more stuff than us which we just can’t acquire easily like any C or Java.

  19. Rachelon May 19th 2008 at 3:56 pm

    @Marc and Visu

    That’s what i was trying to say, but they started arguing. I still stay with my points

    *All they want is good job with fat cheque.
    *We are called graduates and not real pro’s in anything.
    I will stay with my points no matter what.

  20. Nareshon May 19th 2008 at 4:33 pm

    @Rachel

    Good point rachel…

  21. Visuon May 20th 2008 at 4:31 am

    Join da club rachel.
    Naresh, you bloody Engineer. ROFL.

  22. Harion May 20th 2008 at 12:58 pm

    Naresh better delete all comments , better idea is to delete post. Why do you do this?

    So waste of time commenting in your blog right? Rite vidu. May be my last comment is this if you do it again.

    @Marc
    You did not read Srividya’s comment. She has posted clearly and see this naresh he deleted it. She has explained better than me.

    @all
    Just it is the way to take up your course. If you think you can’t learn you can never learn and if you think you can, then we can even create a program to plot a graph after measuring the error rates in an incoming transmission on a LAN.

    your friend Sanchan did a B.Sc. in Electronic Media. He has also written an operating system is assembly code, created a text editor in assembly and is now developing application for Blackberry devices, because he had the interest and that is why. It doesn’t mean no B.E student can write it.

    There are brilliant students in B.E who are technically strong. So no one can tell reading B.E is waste. Better say reading B.E in AIHT is waste.

  23. Selerineson May 20th 2008 at 1:10 pm

    @All : Without showing any interest towards any thing.. There is no use of talking about it….. I hate the course plans, teaching and so on…. But i like engineering… Its not because of i am going to earn money… Even one of my friend who finished B.Sc is got placed in TCS and getting a good salary…. As marc said even arts students are so good as compared to other engineering students.. It all depends on personal interest.. Money and all second thing…..

  24. vinodon May 21st 2008 at 3:57 am

    @ Everyone who thinks Engineering is waste.
    Well you may say that because of the college we study. Compare the students of Sairam with us. They are better than us. Compare us with AU students. They are far more better than us in creating programs. Don’t say B.E. is like this. Its the students who work for it and how they take it. B.E. is useful and the course we do is useful only. I am not saying that it has no disadvantages. It has a lot. But on the whole doing B.E. is better than few other course where you pay even more than this and end up earning less than this. You think B.E. is nothing but for paying a lot. I take it differently. You and I both are right with their points.

  25. Visuon May 21st 2008 at 5:46 am

    @vinod:
    I strongly oppose your point stating that sairam* college students are better than us, BLOODY HELL !!! No way, we both study the same syllabus and atleast we do struggle to get 36, but those ppl have that plan 404! (Damn them).. And also, we have seen many sairamites, speak honestly da. And hey, if you exclude the those allied papers like EVS, chemistry et all, we both (BSc and BE) have the same subjects da. So, B.E under AU is void.

    P.S : Programming alone is not the strength of engineering.

    *If you are a sairam college student, I was joking. ROFL.

  26. Rachelon May 21st 2008 at 7:19 am

    Whatever? I stay with my points :D

  27. Selerineson May 21st 2008 at 3:34 pm

    @Rachel : You just try to stay where ever you wanna stay…. But one thing i wanna say here, that is now a days you slightly changed as like one of our class mate. You are talking like him. I am not ready to point out the person… You people also don’t try to bring his name out….

  28. Rachelon May 21st 2008 at 6:07 pm

    Hey people any of you know about whom Selerines is talking about. I’ve no idea.

  29. vinodon May 26th 2008 at 5:40 pm

    Well I went wrong there saying Sairam students. I was actually going to tell just AU students :D Sorry for that. My mistake only. Well take SSN students as example. They are better than most of my college students. Not all but most. They are also studying the same syllabus. But they are better than my college students. Its not just that they are interested. They also consider the AU course if I am not wrong. I am not saying that AU is the best but it is good only. Its just the way we take it. And Marc said somewhere (I don’t know if its in this post) that one of his arts friend has done something related to operating system or something else. Well how many students are there in arts like him???? There will be many more like him in Engineering under AU. Engineering under AU is not bad. Few blame it because correction is not good but it is done by staff who teach in self financing college (most of the times) and few think that syllabus is crap but they never go through the syllabus of other colleges like BITS, IIT and other colleges. I can go on saying but I am not interested.

  30. Marcon May 30th 2008 at 4:21 pm

    There are probably more arts students with programming knowledge than B.E. students. See the news. More than half of engineering graduates are unemployable.

    AU syllabus is different. Timings are different, grading system is different… everything is different. B.E. at AU is totally different from B.E. under AU. Do not compare. The discussion is getting complicated to follow. We need a forum for this.

  31. vinodon Jun 2nd 2008 at 10:45 am
