Warner calls on Amazon
Warner Music decided to sell its music through Amazon’s digital music store on MP3 format. The group had earlier been against selling tunes on MP3 format since they can be copied, burned into CDs and transferred to other users.
However, with more and more companies jumping into the bandwagon, Warner had no option. With this, the number of MP3s for sale in Amazon’s store has gone up to 2.9 million.
Warner’s catalogue includes hits by Led Zeppelin and other top pop stars. Universal Music Group and EMI are already selling their titles as MP3 files through Amazon.
