Are films, based on sports, Bollywood’s new success formula? So far, there have been the 2007 mega-hit “Chak-De” based on women’s hockey, “Ta Ra Rum Pum” on motor sports and “Apne” which is about boxing.

This year, the Hindi film industry steered clear of cricket, the most popular game in the country. The latest film in the sports genre, is “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal” on football. The UTV-produced, Vivek Agnihotri directed “Goal” is about a football team, compromising South Asians who live in the Southhall area of London.
They find themselves in a must-win situation in a major English league tournament, if they have to save their club. John Abraham and Arshad Warsi play the role of footballers, Bipasha Basu is John’s lover and Bomman Irani is the coach.
John, Arshad and the others trained for weeks under football choreographer Andy Anash, who has worked with greats such as David Beckham, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho for television commercials. Pritam’s music is already a rage with chartbuster numbers such as “Ishq Ka Kalma”. The film carries positive reports.

This is one of the best Bollywood movies i have seen up until now. Family and friends feel the same way about it. This movie is really romantic and dramatic at the same time. In my opinion we need more films or movies like this to keep the south Asian culture alive.
Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao acted extremely well in this, also their couple attracts a lot of people to the movies. This is a must see movie, it’s a family and romantic movie. This movie is also from the makers of Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Apke Hain Kon. This movie is their best right now… the setting of the movie was beautiful which also is a huge attraction. This movie is must see… recommended to everyone!!

Those guys and girls at Disney/Pixar have done it again; they’ve created the perfect underwater world, full of fascinating Disney characters.

A truly enchanting story of a father (Marlon) who loses his son (Nemo), and with help of his new found friend (Dory) ventures out into the ocean to try to find him. On this epic voyage he gets to battle sharks, surf with some turtle dudes, and dice with some jellyfish and survive an encounter in a whale’s stomach.
All the characters are vibrant with Disney charm, but my favorite is Dory, the comic relief, probably one of the funniest Disney characters ever written and superbly voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, pure genius.

We have seen a lot of underdog sports movies over the years which have been inspirational, cinematic and realistic. Chak de India follows the realistic genre….. the film is very predictable in most parts but what makes the film memorable is the performance of the actors, screenplay, direction and also the background score…

It’s a patriotic movie which depicts the story of women’s hockey in India, the difficulty faced by the coach in uniting a diverse team and finally make them successful. SRK pulls of a fantastic performance without his signature songs and dance.

He has silenced all his critics with this performance. amin deserves a perfect 10 for direction which makes him the director to look out in the future. bgm is great throughout the movie, finally all those young girls deserve a standing ovation for their respective roles(most of them are debutante’s) My verdict: a must watch…best of 2007.

I have seen this movie easily a half a dozen times, and I find that the beauty of the film is how Forrest Gump not only shares his innocence and purity with others, including the audience, he also manages to retain that innocence and purity through some very difficult times.
As a Viet Nam
veteran, and a college graduate of the late Sixties, I could of course personally relate to the various periods that Forrest Gump endures. I would only mention that the skillful and seamless blending of music, action, and period costume was enthralling.
And yet it was so perfectly understated that Forrest Gump’s travels through thirty five years of the stormiest and most meaningful years of American history only became clearly defined for the viewer. Even more so than the well known chocolates quote as a metaphor for life, I felt that the remark that stupid is what you do is probably more workable for most of us.
